Jeffrey Campbell Red Spikes Lita |
I've been fathoming over these shoes for almost a year and a half, but recently I've been finally able to afford one thanks to having a job :) Yay summer jobs ^^
I also bought one in the classic model in the color black. I didn't get around to take a photo of it, but everyone pretty much knows what it looks like now. If not, just google it! There're ton of pics out there luckily
I can't wait for the weather to cool down here in Cali so I can start styling the red Lita!!! The black one is obviously easy to wear out cuz it basically goes with anything. The red ones are a bit more trickier and I could only seem to think up of autumn and winter wear.
As for the feel and wear of these shoes:
~The red spike Litas are known to be much heavier then the classic model. That's because the platform is man made, A.K.A. synthetic material, like rubber. The weight due to the synthetic platform might be a deal breaker, cuz even if the shoe is extremely comfortable, if the shoe's to heavy it will be tiring. And sooner or later, you're gonna be dragging behind your other friends.
~The classic model's platform is made of wood and it's increeeeedily light :)
~The spikes on these seem pretty secured on majority on them, but a couple on the bottom (the smaller ones) are somewhat loose. The looseness of the spikes doesn't bother me as much cuz the shoes come with extra studs in the box, so yes they are replaceable. I'm planning to wear them out for more of show - like going out to the mall or cafe's with friends, just cuz these are such brightly colored pieces.
~The ankle part of the boot does chafe so remember to wear high rising socks or something to protect your ankle.
~ The sizing for the spikes are definitely different from the regular model. I'm normally size 6.5, but for the spikes i had to go a half a size down (6). I'm glad i decided to size down after doing much research cuz they fit perfectly now! The spike upper material s suede so they will stretch out and mold to your feet once you break it in.
Overall, I love these shoes for their shape, height, color, and vibrancy. I serioulsy can't wait to start wearing the red spikes once the weather cools down a bit.
