Post Post Post~

So, I'm well aware that I've pretty much ignored my second life as a blogger/youtuber on the interwebs this past few months.  But hello, again :) Just letting you know, it's finals week and I've came here to relieve some stress.
Honestly, I bit wayyy too much off of my plate this time around because I decided earlier to attempt at a double major with pharmaceutical chemistry and clinical nutrition.  I kept changing around what I want to do with my life when I get shoved out into the real world.  Looking back at the quarter from hell I just had, I don't think I'll be able to handle such workload for a year and a half longer. I missed blogging as well. Really, I missed all of this. My poor camera's been collecting dust :'(
Next quarter, I'm gonna take it easier for the sake of my mental health and I'll be back here in my little niche in the interweb sharing things again :P
Till then, take care you lovely reader of the internet~

My Camera Is My Life: A Post About Meaning of Life You Prob Won't Read

I was watching some tag videos on youtube while procrastinating and one of the questions that popped up was: "if your house was on fire, what would you save?"

I thought about it for a second and I realized I would save all the family photo album, my laptop, and most importantly my canon dslr.  The clothes, shoes, and makeup that I have come to love can be easily replaced compared to the physical memento of memories built into a timeline.  Once lost, these can never be replaced.  Sure, one can say the memories are still retained in the mind but psychologists reveal that our memories are not documented nor kept in a stable form.  Each time someone remembers a memory they are actually creating a new memory by stringing a familiar storylines in an attempt to fill in the missing blanks.

So we retain these biologically contaminated memories.  Memory triggers such as photos and memoirs, keep our memories in line - it may not be perfect, but it's better than nothing.

Photos are just a magical creation to me.  With a click of a button, the targeted visual data is encoded, then translated into pixels that can physically retain the split moment forever.  I strive to live in the moment and for the moment and take nothing for granted (that is after I graduate...for now, I am a studying student enslaved by the rigorous courses that often leads me to question my existence and sanity).  Many people would suggest that, in order to live in such way, one can not and should not dwell so much in the past.  And that social media networks such as instagram and twitter is abusing the integrity of life by allowing us to document the silliest things.  It may be true for the general consensus who feed off of attention and gossip in order to survive this dog eat dog world (heck, this may not even be true because as Elbert Hubbart once said "History is gossip well told," and we all could learn from history), but what about those who truly document for themselves?

If time permits, I would document everyday of my life and share it.  Life is an incredible journey where it repeats its self but not exactly in the same manner.  There is always something new to learn from and to share.  I idolize those vloggers and bloggers out there who post everyday for their time and commitment to their project.  A single video or a post may not be a phenomenal work of art but the string of posts that connect to years worth of timeline should be considered as one.

This brings me back to the point, without much acknowledgement to memories and the past how will you come to define your life's journey? Would you define it by your surrounding lifestyle?  In my sophomore year of high school my AP Euro teacher reminded me several times that there will be a day when you have to let go of this world, and when that time comes, letting go would be much easier if you were able to reflect back at how good and fulfilling your life was by having done all the things you would have wanted and lived the life you would have wanted.  If there was nothing to reflect back to at the end of the clock, what would that life mean? What would happen to the restless soul?

What my teacher was trying to get through to me was, making money is not the point of life, but to live is. Much like the general consensus today, I fear of becoming poor, unemployed, and dependent.  My feeble excuse is that, I didn't grow up with much money, so my parents decided to invest in their whole future into me.  My life doesn't only define me, but also my parents, hence the fear.  This fear of being poor isn't only shared by me, but a growing population in our society today.  This mindset had dramatically changed from the 60's where majority defined their life by philosophical achievements.  What is going on?

Living can also be an illusion only to be defined by other living beings. Kind of like, if the tree in a forest fell but not a living soul heard it, did it make a sound?  Naturally if "living and existence" is acknowledged by ourselves and others an impression is left behind, and given that internet and social media in a sense immortalized the documentations made proving our existence to those that see it, does it really degrade the integrity of our lives?

OK~~~~ I didn't not expect to write a freaking term paper on about photography and mass media defining the quality and integrity of our lives when I stated this post...
I just wasted like 2 hrs procrastinating from studying for my o-chem and food chem final that's in less than 10 hrs from now by defining the meaning of life....
Wow...seriously who does this D:
This is a sign I need to start taking arts and humanities classes again.  My heads been immersed in science waaaay to long that it's rebelling.

Motherly Nature, Fatherly Strength

The Civil Wars - My Father's Father

I just found these amazing duo, and wow just wow!  I've been going through a country phase lately, whether it be music or styling, for some odd reason. Ehhh~ I know I'm kinda cheating it cuz they're more of a folky country.
I don't know if it's because I'm living 20 min. away from the wine country or if my biochem professor is a cowboy, but it might just be because i'm getting pretty homesick and it just brings out the comfy homey aura that reminds me of  my childhood.
Even though I grew up in the big city of Los Angeles, my mom loves antiques and country/rustic inspired decors.  I remember waking up on weekends and watching pre-recorded episodes of Martha Stwert's Living on VHS with my mom :)  Back then, I was too young to fully appreciate what I was watching, and how my mom had took the time to record all those episodes during the week so she can share them with me.
It still amazes me how wonderful my mom was at raising us.

Q.Q

Lately my motivation for school has been ever-changing as the weather.  The main thing I pretty much look forward to is editing and uploading videos...not much of animal biochem and food chem.
I will admit, my food chemistry class is pretty awesome compared to all the other non-conventional upper div classes.
BUT THERE IS SO MUCH ORGANIC CHEMISTRY INVOLVED X_X
DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED IN MY ANIMAL BIOCHEM CLASS

All we did was get through the bond stucture of the different types of sugars and their derivitives, and OMG T_T
It's honestly do-able and not that hard, but I'm just so unmotivated for school at the moment.

All I want to do is cuddle up in the corner of my bed surrounded by a pillow fort and watch Chef John from FoodWishes cook those amazing foods. drool drool drool...yummmm ^^

Tomorrow, i have a four hour shift of volunteer work, but I'm not looking forward to going.  Saying that will probably come back and bite me in the ass later on, but I'm really not looking forward to coming back to the apt all tired and stressed. Then having to spend the rest of the day finishing all my lab write ups and catch up on this past week's lecture T_T

Sea Of Love

As the fleeting hot summer days are coming to an end, I'm going to miss all those moments that have turned into sweet memories

This was weeks ago on Memorial day weekend when my family and i went to the beach for a family trip.
The beach there, i believe we went to santa barbra, was absolutely gorgeous and the sky that day was beautifully painted.

All I Need is a Break

Life has been just too busy these days that Summer break doesn't feel like summer anymore.

Honestly, I need a day to breakdown, cuddle up in a pillow fort, and watch seasons of "Scrubs" on Netflix.

Fu**k You Mc Donalds

I don't understand what it is with Mc Donalds being inconsistent with their policy.

So the story is, I was using the power outlet to charge my laptop at a Mc D's while I was studying for finals and munching on a burger with a drink.  This isn't my first time using a power outlet at a Micky D's, but what looked like the manager came up to me and told me I couldn't use it. After being dumbfounded at this remark, I politely agreed to put the plug away then went on to ask for an explanation why I couldn't use it. This is what they told me, "I don't know, I'm sorry but my boss told me."
Uhm...excuse me, Mc D's is a major corporation, so what's up with this inconsistency with the use of their power outlet? I don't know, as of now, all they told me is because they're branch is not part of the 'corporation.'
I know I have a limited knowledge when it comes to the topic of business and franchise, so maybe what the manager was telling me was right, but all I'm thinking right now is that they're just giving me a complete bull so they could keep their electricity bill down.  I don't know, but I already didn't like Mc Donald's that much before ( i just went there, since it isn't as busy as the nearby Starbucks and seemed more fit to study in) so it's not that much harder for me to NEVER EAT THERE EVER AGAIN and to have my family and friends to follow the same path.

I know this may seem a bit petty of me to be somewhat outraged at something small as this, but it's finals week for me and life has been a bit stressful and the last thing I need is someone to tell me I can't use the power plug when I have the complete privilege as a customer.

So now I've escaped to the usual Starbucks I go to to post this.  As usual the parking was hectic and so was grabbing a table.  Oh and not to mention the racist or sexist bastard who wouldn't let me take his parking space.  This dude came out and went into his car and just waited as I had my signal on. He was moving his tires around and continously looking back if I was still there and waited for a good 10 min. doing jack shit (no joke) until I drove up front to look for another spot. (Just for clarification, there was enough space for the dude to just back out no problem.  People waiting behind were getting frustrated, so they were driving right past me) Then he decides to back out =________= mo*fu*ker

Real Time Movie of L.A.

My all time favorite chick flick is "Breakfast at Tiffany's" but" 500 Days of Summer" makes it into my list of must watch chick flicks.  One the great thing about the movie is that it was beautifully filmed in Downtown, L.A. (During the time I'm in school, whenever I get homesick I watch whole bunch of big blockbuster movies that show off L.A. I guess that's one the perks from being born and raised in L.A.)

After the movie was shot and released, certain places have definitely gone up in popularity such as the Angel Knoll's Park: Summer's favorite spot. You'll see people stopping by to take pictures and such, but it's no longer a great dating spot due to all the touristy attraction.  You wouldn't call it a great dating spot even before the movie cuz there's a lot of bums sleeping around the park in the shade, no joke. Anyways, I was going up to the California Plaza to watch a free Lunchtime concert hosted by Grand Performance and stopped by here.

Seriously! I love L.A. cuz there's always something to do for free. It definitely takes some research buts they're out there, just have to look for it.

Went and saw Thao with the Get Down Stay Down :)

Frustration Turns Me into a Diva

I realized today, actually just right now, that when I'm content I am willing to be patient and optimistic, but when I'm frustrated with life because it just seems to drag on and on I get snippy (like most people do). This diva in me kinda just comes out, and it kinda surprises people that I can carry on this attitude.  So now I understand that when I saw those innate fear in people surrounding me, they were genuinely shocked and somewhat scared...

Classics Never Die

Lately I'm going through a 50's-60's phase. I was always fasicanted by the 50's-60's style but never lived up to it until recently.  It partially has to do with the fact that I'm now living on my own, which somewhat gives me a freedom to purchase and decor however I wish too without much financial restrain.

The overall idea I wanted to express is that I love vintage because it carries a air of familiarity.  There's something about it gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling of security. Maybe it's just psychology working on me, because I know that the item or whatever style it may be carries some sort of unique history pertaining to each decade.

Funny thing is, instead of being attracted to the women's style, I've been leaning more towards the men's style with the large leather messenger bag/briefcase and the glasses.  If I could find myself a large circle skirt with lots of volume, I would actually like to pair it with the masculine wear I own to make it more contemporary. I love pairing men and women's wear together, but most people find that odd. That's another story for another day.
